The CFA visit

On Tuesday morning, Adrian, Michael and Steven from South Morang CFA paid us a visit as part of our Community Helpers unit.
They brought in their firetruck and showed us all of the equipment on the firetruck. Steve showed us lots of super long hoses, hose triggers and ladders. We got to sit in the truck and put the sirens on. The best part was some of us even got to shoot the firehose. The water shot out really far and high into the sky.

Michael and Adrian talked about their uniform. It is very heavy and the CFA firefighters need to carry lots of equipment when they are on a job. The have helmets and oxygen tanks to breathe clean air during a fire.

They also taught us what to do if there is a fire in our home. When the smoke rises, we need to 'Get down low and go, go, go!' Or if any of our clothes catch fire, we need to 'Stop, drop and roll!'

We would like to thank Adrian, Michael and Steven for coming to visit us. We learned a lot about what the CFA do and what to do if we see a fire.
Angie: I liked the fire engine. It was fun.

Filip: The water was going up in the air. The siren was really loud.

Thomas: I saw the firetruck had a hose and a ladder.
